Wanda Ford (East Tech Basketball)

Wanda Ford played Division I Basketball for the Drake Bulldogs. She was the first woman in NCAA history to collect 1500 rebounds and set the NCAA career record with 1,887 rebounds. In 1985-86, Ford became the first player in NCAA history to lead the country in scoring (30.6 points per game) and rebounding (16.9 boards) in the same season. During that campaign, she earned first-team Kodak All-America honors. A Women’s Basketball Yearbook ALL-American team selection in each of her final three seasons. After graduating from Drake in 1986, Ford enjoyed a prosperous professional career playing in Italy, Brazil, Sweden, and Israel. Wanda currently holds 15 NCAA Division I Basketball Individual Records.
